A person would be pretty hard-pressed to call himself or herself a Christian without feeling a deep obligation and desire to serve their fellow spiritual family and other human beings. Jesus Christ taught us to "Love One Another" while He was on earth, and He also said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if you have love one to another" ( Apostle John 13: 35 ). This doesn't mean we have to die to show our love for our brothers, sisters or friends . We lay down our lives every time we put someone else's needs before our own. And the "friends mentioned in the Scripture above is understood to be members of Christ body, which are members of our body since Jesus also commanded us to "love one another."
